Part of the participation contract between the organising committee of the Black Forest ULTRA Trail Run and the participants. Translation for information only: the German version is legally binding.

1. Eligibility

People of all genders may take part, whether or not they are members of an association or club, or run as amateur athletes. Participants confirm that they will only start in races approved for their age group under the race rules. Persons not properly registered are excluded.

2. Risks and dangers

Trail running involves risks, for example from fatigue during the race. Your own physical limits are pushed hard. A race like this can endanger life and safety through environmental conditions, equipment, weather, road traffic and obstacles. On public roads, the road traffic regulations (StVO) apply.

The organiser can only take safety measures for foreseeable risks. Not everything is foreseeable or controllable. The organiser is not obliged to take measures that are disproportionate to the possible damage.

By starting, participants accept the condition of the course and knowingly assume all risks, including those arising from underestimating the difficulty of the course. They are responsible for their equipment.

3. Rights and obligations

The bib must be worn clearly visible and must not be altered or damaged.

Anyone who exceeds the time limit or drops out hands in the designated section of their bib to a marshal.

All participants carry an ID card.

Take particular care on sections with limited visibility.

4. Personal liability

Participants are personally liable for any damage they cause to third parties through their participation, whether personal injury or damage to property. After an accident, the person responsible gives their bib number and personal details to the person affected or to the nearest marshal. Liability insurance at your own expense is recommended.

Participants are solely responsible for their equipment. The organiser is under no obligation to check or monitor the equipment.

The organiser's liability is limited to the scope and amount of its liability insurance.

5. Cancellation of participation

We recommend taking out the insurance during online registration. It only refunds the amount on presentation of a medical certificate confirming the illness or accident. Without this insurance, entry fees cannot be refunded. For a fee of €10.00, your place can be transferred to another person.

6. Cancellation of the event

The organiser reserves the right to adjust the rules, the route and the elevation profile. The event takes place in all weather as long as the safety of participants is not at risk. The organisers may, at their own discretion, interrupt the race, delay starts or cancel at short notice.

If the event cannot take place due to force majeure, we will announce all details on this website or on site.

7. Support during the race

Support is only allowed at the designated aid stations. Private vehicles on the course are strictly prohibited.

Emergency doctors, trained first aiders and the mountain rescue service (Bergwacht) provide medical care.

8. Doping

Doping, meaning the use of prohibited substances or methods to enhance performance, is forbidden. The current anti-doping rules of WADA and, where applicable, NADA apply. They form part of the participation contract.

The organiser may carry out unannounced checks. Violations lead to disqualification and may result in further sanctions.

9. Disciplinary rules and disputes

The organiser's rules apply and, where applicable, the provisions of the relevant athletics and trail running federations. They form part of the participation contract.

In the event of disputes, the organiser and participants shall first seek an amicable solution before taking the matter to the ordinary courts. Where available, an arbitration body or corresponding procedure designated by the organiser shall be used first. This agreement also applies to the legal successors of the participants.
